The resurrection is the thing that distinguishes Christianity from all other religions. All others have rules, qualifiers and methods to get to God. In fact, Christianity is not a religion at all. It is, quite literally, GOOD NEWS.

The cross was where God's love--and wrath toward sin-- came together. And it is where Christ's broken body bore or punishment so that we can live in remembrance of him and in the reality that there is NO condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:1).

In this week's study, we enter the intimate upper room where Jesus spent time with his disciples the night before his crucifixion.

This week we see how Jesus does not give the expected "textbook" answers. He didn't do it 2000 years ago and he doesn't do it now.

The Pharisees were getting perturbed about this Jesus guy who kept claiming to be God. Now, he has done a miraculous healing of a blind man and it has the town talking.

This week we continue to look at some of the "I am" statements that Jesus made, focusing on "I Am the light."

The more we truly set our sights on knowing Jesus - his character, his qualities and his love - and quit settling for just knowing ABOUT him, the more we can become like him.

This is the last of the Seven Deadly sins. All the others we have studied have been sins of commission. Sloth is a sin of omission. Pastor Adam quoted Os Guinness who said, “What is undeniable is that when comforts and convenience sap our energies and idealism, inactivity secretes sloth into our minds like a poison in the blood.” Do you need to examine inactivity in your life?

Lust is fake or imitation intimacy. It begins in our minds and can ultimately end up being addictive and particularly deadly in our lives and relationships. Like the other deadly sins, it typically seems harmless at first but becomes destructive and often rages out of control.

Gluttony refers to anything that begins as a good thing--and can even be a gift from God--that we we take to excess or over-indulge in.
