Al Hassler, elder

Al serves on our teaching team and likes to ask, “What’s a former atheist and current trial lawyer doing giving his time to teach at a church?” He is passionate about helping people get connected to Jesus and finding community at Rockhills. When he began following Jesus 20 years ago–he had no friends, a failing marriage, and no where to turn. But when he joined a faith community, a few key relationships changed the course of his life and marriage.

Ever since then, he has seen many struggling people find healthy community in the church and that’s why he’s given his life to help others find what he found. Al loves hiking and mountain biking with his wife Jan, and enjoys using his law background to help folks. His greatest joy though is to see people getting connected in community and truly experiencing the life God intended for us in Jesus.
